2008 News (updated September 2008)
Dear Parents/ Carers,
In Year 3 homework is normally given out on Fridays and due in the following Wednesday although odd pieces may be given inbetween. The tasks given are usually related to activities and topics covered in class and will, hopefully consolidate the children's learning. The children are expected to undertake their homework themselves with your support if necessary. At times the children may be asked to do some independent research connected to one of our topics. This could be done through reading, visits to the library or the use of a computer etc.
This term we will be studying the Tudors. The children have commenced their study of this period in History and are already showing enthusiasm. We will be looking at Tudor buildings, clothing, the daily life of the rich and poor and, of course, the unforgettable Henry V111 and his six wives. Throughout this term many of our activities will be linked with this topic. In Art we will be using different pencils to draw portraits and mixing colours to create clothing swatches. Our PSHE will focus on relationships and in Science we will be investigating materials and discussing their appropriateness for a specific use. In music we will be listening to and making Tudor music!! Of course Mathematics and Literacy will continue as normal.
If you have any questions or feel that you can be of any help in any way please feel free to come and have a word.
Thank you for you support.
