Teacher: Miss L Millman BA (Hons) with QTS
I did a 4 year degree at Bishop Grosseteste College in Teaching and History. I then worked at Knebworth Primary for a year in Year One. I also did a years supply in schools around Lincolnshire before starting here in September 2005. I am the History and Geography co-ordinator, with shared responsibility for PSHE.
2008 News (updated September 2008) Welcome back after the holidays and I hope everyone had an enjoyable break. This Term our work is going to be focussing on the topic of Toys.
We will be learning about toys in the past as well as looking at our own favourite toys. We will also be making our own moving vehicles and talking about forces that make things move.
In Literacy we will be spending lots of time looking at stories with familiar settings and in Numeracy we will be working on counting, number recognition and writing and lots of addition and subtraction.
Miss Smith will be teaching RE and Music on a Tuesday afternoon each week.
In Year One books are generally changed on a Monday and Thursday. Please make sure you write in your child's reading record book when they have finished it so that we know that the book needs changing. Also do write any comments either to say how well your child is doing or to let me know of any problems.
We are also going to be having a class library so that the children can bring home another book each week to share with the family – more information to follow!
Please start collecting boxes and tubes (not toilet rolls) a as we are going to start junk modelling from next week.
